Quantity Surveyor /Senior Quantity Surveyor (Pre-Contract)

Minimum of five years’ post-graduate experience working with a PQS practice. However, we will happily consider surveyors who are PQS trained but have moved into main contracting.

MRICS preferred.

The successful candidate will be highly proficient in producing bills of quantities for multi-trade packages.

The individual  should be a self-starter and be able to work on multiple commissions at the same time.

He or she should be highly organised and able to mentor junior members of staff.

This position presents an opportunity to develop into head of department in a structured development process.

Excellent client-facing skills are required, as are excellent oral and written communication skills.

Civils and groundworks experience would be advantageous but not critical.

Graduate QS – from a PQS background

Must have experience in preparing bills of quantities from first principles using drawings and specifications and be familiar with SMM7 or NRM2 format.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, keen to learn and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

The person will work under the guidance of our head of pre-contract quantity surveying.

We will put them through their RICS and structured training programme.

We will consider students in the final year of their studies, assuming they have already completed the work experience placement component of the full-time course.

Salary will be based on experience, and the role is based at our head office in Glasgow.
