Scott is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 30 years of experience and is the Founder and Group CEO of Soben. Scott spent the first ten years of his career in private practice with a local authority before undertaking commercial management roles with main contractors. He experienced first-hand the lack of specific contractor-focused expertise and established Soben to fill this gap. Scott devised the approach, values, and service standards upon which Soben was founded and continues to this day.

Andrew has over 20 years of front-end contracting and consulting experience across numerous sectors including retail, leisure, commercial, residential, defence, data centres, renewable energy, and utilities. Andrew is a results-focussed leader with a high level of knowledge over a range of construction contracts. With a keen eye for detail, Andrew works tirelessly to ensure that clients are properly rewarded for the work they do.

Carol specialises in helping growth businesses succeed, working with many companies to transform their businesses and themselves since 2005. She coaches and mentors ambitious owner managers, working with them and their top teams. Carol is the Programme Leader of the Business Growth Programme at Cranfield School of Management, a scale-up institute accredited programme. She holds a Cranfield MBA, where she received the Strategy Prize, and holds a Cambridge MA in Economics. Carol is accredited in various psychometric tools.

Claire is also passionate about creating and building inclusive, high-performing teams. Derek is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 30 years industry experience. Derek has an excellent understanding of the needs of the various parties to a construction project, having worked in private practice for sub-contractors and with local, national, and global main contractors. Prior to joining Soben, Derek was Commercial Director for a global main contractor responsible for a business unit with a £200m+ turnover.

Joe joined the business in April 2021 to head up our exciting expansion into the Americas regions. Joe is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and has over 30 years’ industry experience working on many prestigious projects around the world. Joe originates from Scotland but has been based in America for over 20 years and now leads his growing team who are working on the data centre, infrastructure, hi-tech manufacturing, renewable energy and life sciences sectors.

Kevin is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry across Australia and the UK. He has held senior roles in both the Client-side of construction and while working for main contracting organisations. He has gained extensive experience while working on major civil, educational, residential, industrial and commercial projects.
In his current role as Director with Soben, Kevin’s responsibilities include the project management of several projects at varying stages, as well as the daily preparation of Quantity Surveyor reports for several funders, and cost plans for various Clients.

With a remarkable career spanning more than two decades, Ana has played a leading role in the human resources departments of diverse organisations in the construction industry. Her expertise encompasses vital areas including talent strategy development and communication, recruitment, organizational design and human resources, all of which enable Ana to lead the Human Resources team across the Americas.

His extensive knowledge is backed by a deep understanding of industry standards. Throughout his career, Brian has completed PMI-accredited management courses and is a certified professional from leading organizations within the construction sector.

David is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with close to 10 years of experience in the construction industry across the UK & Europe. Having gained extensive experience while working on major civil, data centre, residential, hotel and commercial projects. In his current role as Associate Director with Soben, David’s responsibilities include the Cost Management of several projects at varying stages, as well as the management and preparation of feasibility studies, cost plans and change management for various clients.

Edward is an experienced Chartered Surveyor and Arbitrator who has worked on some of the world’s largest construction projects during his 28-year career in both the UK and Middle East. Edward was the youngest Arbitrator to be appointed by Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) in 2007. Since his first DIAC appointment, Edward has received over 40 appointments. Edward is also involved in the development of surveyors throughout the UK in his role as teacher and assessor for the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors).

Helena is a driven, and motivated professional, with an MSc Marketing Master’s degree from London South Bank University. A highly experienced marketeer with demonstrated work experience inB2B SaaS, out-of-home (OOH), Media, Events and now Consultancy. Helena joined Soben in February 2023 to manage all marketing activities across the EMEA region and build on her strong interest in content marketing. Helena is a dedicated team player with a passion for building brands.

Ian joined Soben in early 2016 as a Senior Quantity Surveyor and has progressed in recent years to become Director of Pre-Contract Services for the EMEA region. Before joining Soben, Ian held different quantity surveying roles at an M&E support company. Ian has utilised his professional skills and experience to play a pivotal role in the recent growth and success of Soben in the UK and has worked closely with many leading tier one main contractors.

Jakub has worked as commercial and procurement lead on some of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK, spanning rail, highways, energy, and utilities. He has managed projects through development and execution stages, from initiation to commissioning, across various forms of contract. As a RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) chartered quantity surveyor and certified commercial manager, he combines his technical prowess with strategic acumen to deliver exceptional results for clients. His pre-contract expertise includes providing strategic procurement advice, managing large tender processes, and producing a full spectrum of cost estimates. Post-contract, he is highly skilled in contract administration, cost management and value engineering.

Leonie brings 9-years of experience in international engineering and construction recruitment to Soben. Working closely with key clients to ensure they receive the right consultants to support their project needs. Leyla boasts more than 19 years of experience across diverse industries, including pharma, tech, subsea, offshore, petrochemicals, and mining. With PMP, Scrum and Agile certifications she’s equipped to deliver high-quality results as Lead Project Controls Manager at Soben. Leyla oversees the scheduling, document and risk management, and analysis/control activities of major projects in the pharma and tech sectors.

Mark has 20 years of quantity surveying experience in the public and private sectors working across numerous continents, with a strong understanding of the commercial, retail, education, residential, and healthcare sectors. Mark has extensive knowledge and experience carrying out quantity surveying functions from initial feasibility studies to the completion of multiple projects for both contractor and client-based organisations. His specialist areas include cost planning and control, contract administration, value engineering, risk management, and supply chain management.

Mick is a chartered member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Quantity Surveying gained from Leeds Beckett University. He has extensive industry experience spanning over 35 years working within estimating and cost management roles in 22 different countries across the globe. Mick has represented either the owner, contractor or subcontractor on a variety of diverse capital construction projects in the commercial, hi-tech, oil & gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and public sectors.

Paul is a seasoned Chartered Quantity Surveyor with 26 years of international experience spanning Ireland, Australia, and the United States. His extensive sector expertise includes Education, Residential, Retail, Healthcare, Commercial, and Data Centers, granting him a diverse view of construction projects. Throughout his career, Paul has excelled in crucial roles involving cost management and client relations.

Paul is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with over 35 years of experience in the construction industry. Paul has Master’s Degrees in both Construction Management and Construction Law and is a past Chairman of Glasgow Caledonian University Industry Advisory Group, a position he held for over seven years. Outside of work, Paul proudly represents Scotland in the Senior European Team Championships in golf.

Peter is an expert in the construction industry, with experience in project delivery, contract management, commercial management and project engineering. He has worked on some Global projects including Crossrail Paddington (London) and Rio Tinto train upgrade in Karratha (NW Australia). At Soben, Peter leads Soben’s Data Centre service in EMEA, which is seeing rapid growth. The aim is to align with the wider business in being sustainable, aiming for quality growth and having a global presence.

Pieter is an experienced supply chain professional who brings a wealth of experience and expertise across various sectors, including mission critical, oil & gas, petrochemical, and data centres. He is responsible for forming supply chain workstreams, sustainability transformations and organisational changes and creating development activities related to Soben’s key clients. Pieter is a motivated team player with a deep understanding of contract requirements. He is committed to maintaining quality, budget, and schedule objectives whilst safeguarding relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Robert is a Chartered Surveyor and has been working in the construction industry for over 15 years where he has led teams across multiple sectors, companies and continents. In that time he has become a specialist in program management and project controls focusing on driving value, improving efficiency and building high-performing teams. Robert’s experience has given him a unique insight into a huge variety of construction and real estate delivery models which has proved to be a huge asset when working with new clients.

Robert has been a Quantity Surveyor for almost 20 years starting his career with Mackenzie Partnership which later became Davis Langdon and then AECOM. He then spent time working in Indonesia before returning to the UK where he worked for Faithful and Gould. Before joining Soben in early 2022, Robert was with Robinson Low Francis working as a Project Director for a number of years. Robert has worked in a variety of sectors but has most recently worked in the commercial office sector.

Sahil has worked in project and product management roles for almost ten years in various pre-tender and post-contract sectors ranging from residential, commercial, institutional, data centres, and Indra to BIM software development.
