Company chairman Paul Moultrie will fly the Soben flag at the prestigious World Club Championship golf event in Thailand.

Paul, who is a former club champion at Royal Troon Golf Club, will take part in the amateur tournament which runs for six days at the Ayodhya Links, near Bangkok.

The world-renowned championship sees 24 clubs from 15 countries send two-man teams to compete in a spirit of “camaraderie and hearty competition” from December 3 to 9, 2016.

Paul and team mate Michael Smyth, who is the current Troon champion, will compete in a 36-hole strokeplay tournament, from which the top four finishers go forward into a deciding matchplay event.

The remaining 20 teams then go into the consolation Chairman’s Trophy competition, which Paul and his team mate have won on two previous occasions.

Paul, who flies out to Thailand on Friday, December 2, 2016, said: ““I’m thrilled and delighted to have been selected to be part of the Royal Troon team which will take part in the World Club Championship’s in Thailand this year.

“It is a great honour for me to represent Royal Troon at this prestigious event. Teams from all over the world will be participating at the WCC, and I look forward to meeting and playing golf with my fellow competitors, and in enjoying the unique camaraderie that exists within the game of golf.”

The World Club Championship has a rotating host venue each year and returns to its original home of Nine Bridges, South Korea, every second year.

TV viewers can keep up with Paul and Michael’s progress on Sky Sports anywhere in Europe and on the Golf Channel in the USA.
