A CONTRACT to supply Bills of Quantities on a new “super school” campus has been secured by Soben.

We will provide the service to main contractor BAM Construction who will build a new secondary and primary for the high-achieving Laurus Trust in Stockport, Greater Manchester.

Once completed, the Laurus Cheadle Hulme secondary school and adjoining Primary School will be home to 1050 and 420 pupils respectively.

The scope of Soben’s contract involves Bills of Quantities preparations for structural steelwork, brick and block work, internal finishes and hard and soft landscaping.

Construction of the primary school is due to be completed by August, 2018, with the secondary coming in five months later.

The Laurus Trust operates the current Cheadle Hulme High School on a site not far from that of the two new schools, which will boast an auditorium, sports hall, outdoor football pitch, rugby pitch, two athletics tracks and a multi-use games area.

Cheadle Hulme High School and Laurus Cheadle Hulme will operate as sister establishments, addressing over-subscription concerns regarding secondary education provision in the local area.

Soben have worked on a number of education-based projects, including the Westgate School in Berkshire and the Forth Valley College in Falkirk.
