We are delighted to announce that Damien Naughton has joined Soben APAC as an Associate Director. With over twenty years of experience in engineering and construction, Damien will be based in Japan to support our key clients in the region.
After qualifying as a Mechanical Engineer in 2000, Damien retrained as a Quantity Surveyor in 2002. Damien was involved in high-profile projects such as rebuilding Wembley Stadium. He then went on to take roles at Balfour Beatty, Currie & Brown, Artelia and Paragon Consulting in London.
Damien, who is originally from Galway in Ireland, moved to Japan in 2019 with his wife, who is Japanese. He recently completed a role with the Tokyo Olympics before taking up his new post at Soben APAC.
Callum Agnew, Soben APAC Director, commented: “I am thrilled to welcome Damien to the APAC team. Expanding our APAC operation into Japan is a massive milestone for the Soben business.
“Damien will be a key member of our team to help Soben drive and achieve our regional growth ambitions, offering our Japanese clients local experience in a busy and challenging market.”
Damien said about his appointment: “I am delighted to be Soben’s first employee in Japan. It is an excellent time for Soben to enter the market with many large-scale projects underway or in the pipeline.
“Soben plan to build the team in Japan, and this will ensure that we are well placed to meet the needs of the international developers and funders pushing many of these large-scale projects through.”
