Soben Chairman Takes Non-Executive Director Role

21 May, 2020

Soben Chairman, Paul Moultrie, will scale back his involvement in the business to take a Non-Executive Director role on the Soben board.

Paul Moultrie joined Soben in 2016 bringing more than 30 years’ experience in the construction industry, and has played a key part in developing the business to where it is today.

Commenting on the decision, he said; “Half way through last year I reduced my time involvement in Soben to around two days per week. The next part of the plan was to step back a little bit more to a Non-Executive position, where I will be supporting the Board one day per month. I’ll be there to offer strategic business advice and to be a sounding board for the Directors. That plan is now in place.

“This new arrangement will allow me to concentrate on my other passions of golf and golf fitness as well as spending more time with my family.”

Soben Founder & Group CEO, Scott Smyth said; “I have known Paul for almost 30 years since we worked together in private practice.  Paul has been a tremendous asset to the business over the last four years and immense support to me personally.”

“I wish Paul the best with his new endeavours and I look forward to continuing our working relationship as he fulfils his Non-Exec role.”

Paul will continue to work closely with Scott, and with Andrew Gallagher, who was promoted to the position of UK & Europe Managing Director earlier this year.

Since lockdown, Soben has implemented robust working from home arrangements and is operating business as usual.  Despite a marked reduction in the volume of construction tenders coming to market, the team’s specialist experience in high tech manufacturing, data centres, renewable energy and infrastructure is expected to shield it from any wider economic downturn.
